The dictionary defines Composting as "To fertilize with compost" and "To convert vegetable matter to compost". Compost is "A mixture of decaying organic matter, such as leaves and manure, used as fertilizer". The concept has been around since plant life began, but the word is derived from the Latin compositus, then from Old French to modern English.

Composting is nature’s process of recycling decomposed organic materials into a rich soil. Anything that was once living will decompose. Backyard Composting is an acceleration of nature’s same process. By Composting your organic waste, you are returning nutrients back into soil in order for the cycle of life to continue. Finished Compost is essentially fresh soil, dark brown in color, with a smell like the forest floor.
